EMILYs List

Changing the face of power, one Democratic pro-choice woman at a time.

Run. Win. Change the World.

Overview

EMILYs List is a powerhouse organization supporting Democratic pro-choice women running for office. They endorse, fund, and train a pipeline of candidates that change the face of American politics from Stacey Abrams to Tammy Duckworth.

The Challenge

EMILYs List had a dated brand and website that had outlived its usefulness. The website, in particular, no longer was easily editable or scalable to the everyday needs of the organization, failed to show the scope of the organization’s current work, and was not providing an effective user experience for donors.

Elevating the candidate pipeline

Wide Eye worked with EMILYs List on a total soup-to-nuts overhaul of their website. We helped them implement a more modern and accessible visual brand, elevate their candidate trainings, and show the multitude of things that they do to support candidates.

Audience-focused donation

Following a close look at EMILYs List’s historical analytics and a series of audience interviews, we quickly realized that visitors’ inability to easily find and filter the candidates that were near and dear to their hearts was a bottleneck to the donation funnel. We rebuilt the candidate donation experience, adding filters such as “first-time candidate” and “flip a seat” along with critical upsell opportunities to encourage visitors to support the candidates that share their values. The new donation flow is an entirely custom application layer built on top of EveryAction’s fundraising tools — allowing for a seamless shopping cart-like experience for donating to their preferred candidates.
